Short Ribs Hungarian
Short Ribs Hungarian is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 tsp. salt per lb., 1 clove garlic, crushed, 2 bay leaves, 1/4 tsp. pepper and 1 c. sour cream, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Sprinkle a heavy skillet with the salt.
Place short ribs, fat side down, in skillet and brown on all sides; drain off the excess fat.
Add onion and brown; combine remaining ingredients except sour cream, then pour them over ribs.
Cover and simmer slowly for 2 hours or until tender, adding more tomato juice if needed.
Just before serving, stir in sour cream.
Serve with buttered noodles and poppy seeds; makes 4 to 6 servings.
