Scalloped Oysters
Scalloped Oysters is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pt. oysters, 1 c. unsalted butter, salt and black pepper to taste, 1 1/2 c. half and half and 3 c. crushed soda crackers, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Preheat the oven to 350Β°.
Grease a 1 1/2-quart shallow baking dish.
Drain the oysters; measure 1 cup oyster liquor and reserve. Combine the crackers, butter, lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste.
Sprinkle a third of the crumb mixture in the bottom of the baking dish.
Arrange half oysters over the crumbs.
Sprinkle another third of the crumb mixture over the remaining oysters. Whisk the cream, reserved oyster juice, the sherry (optional) and Worcestershire sauce together; pour over the oysters.
Sprinkle with the remaining crumb mixture.
Bake for 40 minutes; serve immediately.
(Leftovers will be good heated in microwave.)
