Sausage Pinwheels
Sausage Pinwheels is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. oleo or shortening, 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour, 1 1/3 c. buttermilk and 1 lb. pork sausage, cooked and drained, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cut margarine into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add buttermilk and stir until dough clings together. Knead dough 10 to 12 strokes on lightly floured surface.
Roll out to a 16 x 12-inch rectangle.
Sprinkle sausage evenly atop dough. Roll up (jelly roll) style, starting from long side.
Slice into 1-inch slices.
Place cut side down on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450Β° for 10 to 15 minutes.
