Perfect Pie Crust
Perfect Pie Crust is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 3/4 c. shortening, 3 1/2 tbsp. cold water and 1/2 tsp. white vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.
Cut in shortening with fork or pastry blender until pea size crumbs are formed. Combine cold water, vinegar and egg in a small bowl.
Add to flour mixture, stirring until mixture can be formed into a ball. Divide in half and roll out to 1/8-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
Line bottom of 9-inch pie plate with 1/2 of dough.
Use other half for the top crust.
