Pecan Delights(Turtles)
Pecan Delights(Turtles) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1 c. butter or margarine, 1 c. light corn syrup, 1/8 tsp. salt and 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
In a large saucepan, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt. Cook over medium heat until all sugar is dissolved. Gradually add milk and mix well. Continue cooking until candy thermometer reads 248Β° (firm ball stage). Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla until blended.
Fold in pecans. Drop by tablespoon onto wax paper lined cookie sheet.
Chill until firm.
Melt chocolate chips and shortening in microwave bowl.
Drizzle over each cluster. Cool.
