Parmesan Onion Soda Bread
Parmesan Onion Soda Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 1/3 c. grated fresh parmesan cheese, 2 tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Preheat oven to 375°.
Grease baking sheet.
In a large bowl, combine flour, 1/3 cup Parmesan, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt and chopped onion. Cut in margarine/butter until crumbly.
Stir in sour cream and milk until just moistened. Turn onto lightly floured surface and knead until smooth (1 minute).
Divide dough into 2 portions.
Shape into round loaves.
Place on greased sheet. Brush tops of loaves with egg white.
Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Cut an "X" about 1/2-inch through top of each loaf.
Bake at 375° for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool on racks. Makes 2 loaves.
