Oven Swiss Steak
Oven Swiss Steak is an easy dinner. Made with 1 round steak, cut into serving size, 1/4 c. flour, salt and pepper to taste, 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes and 1/2 c. each: celery, carrots and onion in chunky pieces, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Pound and flour steak pieces and brown in shortening.
Remove steak and put in large glass baking dish.
In skillet with meat drippings, add vegetables, tomatoes, salt and pepper.
Simmer until vegetables are tender-crisp.
Thicken vegetable combination with 1 tablespoon flour in 1/4 cup water.
Cover steak pieces and bake.
Cover with shredded cheese during last 15 minutes of cooking time if desired.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour.
Serves 4 to 6.
