Oven Kalua Pork
Oven Kalua Pork is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. hawaiian rock salt, 1/2 to 1 tsp. liquid smoke, 5 to 6 lb. pork butt, 6 to 8 ti leaves and 1/2 c. soy sauce (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Rub rock salt and liquid smoke into pork surface. Wrap meat in ti leaves. Enclose in heavy aluminum foil. Bake, covered, at 375Β° about 4 hours or roast in crock-pot for 6 to 8 hours.
Shred meat into bite size pieces and serve with roasting liquid.
For a different flavor, substitute banana, taro or spinach leaves for ti leaves.
