Sift together sugar, flour and salt and add 2 cups cream and vanilla, beating thoroughly; pour into pie shell.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter.
Bake at 400° for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 325° and bake 45 to 50 minutes longer.
Filling should boil in little heat bubbles over entire pie and is done when a golden brown and still shaky but not runny.
