Old Fashioned Peanut Brittle
Old Fashioned Peanut Brittle is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. light corn syrup, 1/4 c. water, 1 c. planters cocktail peanuts and 2 tbsp. margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cook and stir sugar, corn syrup and water in heavy bottomed 2-quart saucepan over high heat until sugar dissolves.
Cook, without stirring, until mixture reaches 300Β° (hard-crack stage), about 5 minutes.
Stir in peanuts, margarine, vanilla and baking soda.
Quickly spread in thin layer on greased baking sheet; cool.
Break into pieces; store in airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
