Old Fashioned Banana Pudding
Old Fashioned Banana Pudding is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. sugar, 1/3 c. flour, dash of salt, 4 eggs, separated and 2 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Combine 1/2 cup sugar, flour and salt in saucepan.
Stir in 4 egg yolks and milk; blend well.
Cook, stirring until thickened. Reduce heat.
Add raisins and cook 5 minutes more.
Add vanilla. Spread small amount in bottom of 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Cover with a layer of wafers, top with 1/3 of sliced bananas, then 1/3 of custard.
Repeat twice, ending with custard.
Beat egg whites with remaining sugar.
Spoon on top of pudding.
Bake at 425Β° until meringue browns.
