No-Fail Schaum Torte
No-Fail Schaum Torte is an easy dinner. Made with 8 egg whites, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar, 1 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp. almond extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Have egg whites at room temperature.
Beat until frothy.
Add salt and cream of tartar.
Continue beating until soft peaks.
Add sugar, a tablespoon at a time, beating all the while until sugar is dissolved and very stiff peaks form, 10 to 15 minutes.
Put in 10-inch buttered pan.
Place in hot oven at 450Β°.
Close door and turn off heat.
Let stand overnight; do not open door.
Top with strawberries and whipped cream.
