Light Peanut Brittle

Combine sugar, syrup and water in heavy saucepan. Boil to hard ball stage, 252°.
Stir in peanuts and continue to cook to 300°. Remove from heat. Add salt and soda. Stir vigorously to keep mixture from boiling over when adding soda.
Stir only until blended.
Pour quickly onto a lightly buttered cookie sheet. Crack into pieces when cool.
