Italian Pork Chops
Italian Pork Chops is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. shortening, 6 loin pork chops, 1 medium onion, chopped, 1/4 c. green pepper, chopped and 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Melt shortening in large skillet.
Add pork chops and brown quickly on both sides.
Remove chops and drain all but 2 tablespoons fat.
Cook onion and green pepper until soft.
Ad tomato sauce, water, sugar and seasonings.
Heat to boiling and cook for 5 minutes.
Arrange potatoes in 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Place pork chops on top of potatoes and pour sauce over all. Cover casserole with lid or foil and bake at 350Β° for 1 hour. Remove cover and sprinkle with cheese.
Bake 15 minutes more.
