Combine sugar, flour and salt.

Blend together with egg substitute in top of a double boiler.

Cook, uncovered, over boiling water, stirring constantly until thickened.

Reduce heat and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, continuing to stir.

Remove from heat; add vanilla and nutmeg.

Spread a small amount of custard on bottom of a 1 1/2-quart bowl or casserole.

Add a layer of wafers, sliced bananas, custard, wafers, sliced bananas and ending with custard to make 3 layers.

Place marshmallows on top and bake at 450Β° for 3 to 4 minutes until marshmallows are slightly brown. Serve warm or room temperature.
