Hawaiian Crown Cake

Measure flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into sifter.
Stir shortening to soften.
Sift dry ingredients.
As you stir, add milk and extract.
Beat 2 minutes at medium speed of mixer.
Add eggs and yolk.
Beat 1 minute more.
Bake in greased and floured 9-inch tube pan at 375Β° for 50 to 55 minutes.
Cool for 15 minutes. Loosen and turn right side up.
