Grits Casserole
Grits Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. water, 1 tsp. garlic powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper and 1 c. quick cooking grits, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
Add garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Bring mixture to a boil.
Gradually stir in grits.
Lower heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
Remove pan from heat; stir in butter and chilies.
Add 1 cup of cheese until melted.
Mix eggs with milk.
Stir into grits.
Pour grits into a greased 2-quart casserole.
Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake for 1 hour. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
