Grandmother's Yeast Bread

Yields 6 or 7 loaves.
Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Combine first 4 ingredients in large bowl; dissolve and carefully add beaten eggs.
Check temperature of mixture; if warm (around 100°), then add yeast, 1/4 cup warm water and sugar which have been combined.
Beat in half the flour (whole wheat or white). Work in remainder of flour.
Turn out on board floured with white flour.
Knead at least 10 minutes (board side will be "blistered" when kneaded enough).
Let rise to almost double; bake.
