Grandma's Rolls
Grandma'S Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 c. flour, 1 tsp. sugar, 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1/2 c. lukewarm water and 2 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Dissolve 1 teaspoon sugar and yeast in lukewarm water. Scald milk; add to sugar, salt and shortening in a large bowl. Beat in 3 cups flour.
Mixture is not too hot for yeast, add yeast and eggs; then add 3 more cups of flour.
Let stand 1 hour.
Knead; let double in bulk.
Then work into small balls (large walnut-size larger you want large rolls).
Let stand, covered, until light.
Bake at 350Β° for minutes.
Makes 5 dozen small to medium rolls.
You can use and 1/2 cup powdered milk; mix with sugar.
You might like take a stick of oleo and rub over tops when baked.
