Fried Cabbage
Fried Cabbage is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 head shredded cabbage, 1/2 pack bacon or sausage (hot or mild), 1 onion, 1 green pepper and 1/4 tbsp. ground red pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Shred cabbage and set aside.
Cook bacon or sausage and fry the grease in a separate container to be used later.
Chop up onion and green pepper and saute them with a little of the meat grease.
After the pepper and onion cook, put in the cabbage; add meat grease in teaspoons and cook on medium-high.
Add carrots, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes.
Turn heat to simmer and add meat and seasoning.
Cook until tender.
