French Onion Soup
French Onion Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. butter, 1 lg. white spanish or vadalia onion, 2 tbsp. flour, 2 cans beef broth and 1 can chicken broth, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Melt butter in large pot.
Peel, cut in half, and slice onion so slices are still fairly large.
Saute in butter until it starts to become translucent, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle with flour, stir and cook continuously so flour can begin to cook.
Add cans of broth and parsley.
Simmer 20 to 30 minutes.
Put in bowls, add croutons and sprinkled cheese if desired.
