Feathery Fudge Cake
Feathery Fudge Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. soft butter or margarine, 2 eggs, 2 1/2 sq. (1 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream together butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy (beat 5 minutes at high speed on mixer, scraping bowl occasionally to guide butter into beaters or beat 5 minutes by hand).
Blend in chocolate.
Sift flour with soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with ice water.
Beat after each addition.
Bake in two paper-lined 9 x 1 1/2-inch round pans in moderate oven at 350Β° for 30 to 35 minutes or until done.
Frost cooled cake with Chocolate Satin Frosting.
