Feather Sponge Cake
Feather Sponge Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 egg yolks, 1/2 c. water, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 tsp. orange and lemon flavorings, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
Add water and continue beating until very thick.
Gradually add sugar and extract.
Sift flour with salt 3 times.
Fold in egg yolk mixture a little at a time.
Beat egg whites until foamy and then add cream of tartar.
Beat until real moist and glossy looking.
Fold this into first mixture.
Bake in ungreased pan at 325Β° for 1 hour. Remove from oven, invert pan and completely cool before removing from the pan. cut into 3 layers and fill with the filling.
