English Toffee
English Toffee is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter (not margarine), 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 tbsp. corn syrup and 3 tbsp. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Place piece of foil (approximately 10-inches long) on table before starting.
Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan.
Stir in sugars; add syrup and water.
Cook until candy thermometer reads 290Β°.
Add 3/4 cup pecans and cook three minutes more by the clock, stirring constantly.
Pour onto foil and quickly spread as thinly as possible.
Sprinkle chocolate chips on top; spread when they melt.
Sprinkle finely chopped pecans on top.
Cool and chill, then break into bite-sized pieces.
