Divinity
Divinity is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. white corn syrup, 1/2 c. water, 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Pray before you start! Then place in saucepan over low heat the sugar, corn syrup and water. Stir sugar is dissolved; then cook without stirring
252Β° (a little dropped into cold water forms a hard ball).
Remove from heat and pour, beating constantly in stream into the egg whites that have been stiffly beaten.
Continue beating until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss.
Add the vanilla and nuts.
Drop quickly tip of spoon onto waxed paper in individual peaks or spread in greased shallow pan and cut into 1-inch squares when firm.
Makes about 1 1/4 pounds.
