Pray before you start! Then place in saucepan over low heat the sugar, corn syrup and water. Stir sugar is dissolved; then cook without stirring

Continue beating until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss.

Add the vanilla and nuts.

Drop quickly tip of spoon onto waxed paper in individual peaks or spread in greased shallow pan and cut into 1-inch squares when firm.

Makes about 1 1/4 pounds.
