Denver Biscuits
Denver Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. milk, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. crisco, 2 pkg. yeast and 1/4 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Scald 1 quart milk.
Mix sugar and Crisco together and add to milk; cool.
Add yeast which has been dissolved in 1/4 cup of warm water.
Add enough flour (about 7 cups) to make a dough with the consistency of cake dough.
Let rise 1 hour. Mix baking powder salt and sprinkle over bread mixture. Dissolve soda in 1/4 cup water and pour over bread mixture. Stir in well. Add about 3 flour to make biscuit dough.
Refrigerate for minutes before making biscuits. Dough may be kept in sealed container in refrigerator and used as needed.
Cook biscuits at 400Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
They do not need to rise before baking.
