Danish Pastry Apple Bars
Danish Pastry Apple Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1 c. crisco, 1 egg yolk and milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
In medium bowl, combine flour and salt; cut in Crisco.
Beat egg yolk in measuring cup and add enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid; mix well.
Stir egg mixture into flour mixture.
On floured surface, roll 1/2 dough to fit 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch baking pan and place dough in pan.
Sprinkle with corn flakes; top with apples. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples.
Roll remaining dough to make top crust.
Place over apples and seal edges.
Cut slits in top dough for escape of steam.
Beat egg white until frothy and spread on top.
Bake at 375Β° for 50 minutes. While still warm, drizzle with glaze.
Cut in bars.
