Dad's Favorite Baked Beans
Dad'S Favorite Baked Beans is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. dried great northern beans, 1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. dry mustard and 3/4 c. molasses, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Wash and clean beans.
Cover with 2 inches of water.
Let stand overnight.
Next day, put in large pot.
Add water to cover. Bring to a boil and boil 2 minutes; remove from heat and let stand 1 hour.
Drain beans and add water to cover.
Bring to boil, lower heat and simmer, covered, for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until tender (add more water, if necessary).
Drain.
