Cushaw Pie
Cushaw Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. cushaw, cooked and mashed, 1 c. milk or cream, 2 whole eggs, separated, 1 c. sugar and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
👨🍳 Instructions
Combine squash, milk, beaten egg yolks, sugar and seasonings. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour mixture into unbaked pastry shell.
Bake at 425° for 10 minutes, then reduce to 350° and bake until center of pie is set, about 45 minutes.
Serve pie with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
