Cucumber-Onion Pickles
Cucumber-Onion Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 12 large cucumbers, 6 medium onions, 1/4 c. salt, 1 qt. vinegar and 2 c. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Wash, peel and slice cucumbers and onions.
Cover them with salt and let stand overnight.
Bring vinegar and salt to a boil. Sift together mustard, turmeric and cornstarch.
Mix with a little cold vinegar and add to vinegar and sugar.
Drain cucumbers and onions from salt water.
Put in vinegar solution and bring to a boil.
Pack in sterilized Kerr jars and seal at once.
