Cream Puffs
Cream Puffs is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. water, 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. flour and 4 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Preheat oven to 400°.
Heat water, shortening and salt to boiling point.
Add flour all at once.
Stir vigorously until mixture leaves sides of pan and clings to the spoon.
Remove from heat.
Cool slightly, then add unbeaten eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg.
Drop mixture by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet 1 1/2-inches apart.
Bake at 400° for 35 minutes.
Turn off heat and leave puffs in oven until they are dry (about 20 minutes).
Makes about 16 medium puffs.
Cut puffs open and fill with pudding.
