Classic Pesto Sauce
Classic Pesto Sauce is an easy dinner. Made with 2 heaping c. solidly packed fresh basil leaves, 4 cloves garlic, peeled, 1/2 c. pine nuts, 3/4 c. olive oil and 1/2 c. parmesan cheese, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Be sure basil contains only leaves, no stems!
Place basil, garlic and pine nuts in food processor until nearly smooth.
Add oil and cheese; process again.
(If making for freezer, omit cheese and add it when ready to use.)
Makes about 1 cup or enough to dress 1 1/2 pounds of pasta.
