Chocolate Pie
Chocolate Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 sq. semi-sweet baking chocolate, 2 tbsp. butter, 1/3 c. flour, 1 c. sugar and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler.
Mix the flour, sugar and salt; stir into chocolate.
Add the milk slowly, stirring constantly, until fully thickened, about 15 minutes. Beat the egg yolks well.
Stir in a little of the chocolate into the eggs; then return to the hot mixture and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and cool partially.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour into pie shell.
Beat egg whites until soft peaks form; then add 1/3 cup sugar until stiff.
Swirl the meringue over the pie.
Bake at 350Β° for 5 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
