Chicken - Shanghai Style
Chicken - Shanghai Style is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 to 3 lb. chicken thighs/wings, 1/3 c. water, 1/3 c. soy sauce, 2 slices fresh ginger root and 2 tbsp. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Combine all ingredients in large saucepan and bring to boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Stir occasionally to give all pieces an equal turn in the liquid.
After 20 minutes of cooking, remove the cover and increase the heat slightly and continue cooking for about 15 more minutes.
This is when the magic begins; because of the sugar in the liquid.
It will begin to thicken into a beautiful rich brown glaze coating each piece with incredible goodness!
Toss and stir to coat each piece with sauce as it thickens.
Serve with Chicken Rice-A-Roni.
