Chicken Kiev
Chicken Kiev is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 chicken breasts, boned and skinned, 1/2 c. soft margarine, 1 tbsp. chives or parsley, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. thyme, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine butter, salt, thyme, chopped chives or parsley and marjoram. Shape into a roll, about 8 inches. Wrap in waxed paper. Freeze for 20 minutes plus. Flatten chicken with rolling pin between sheets of waxed paper until thin. Cut butter in 4 to 6 pieces, depending on how many meat pieces you have. Put one on each piece. Roll up tightly, enclosing butter. Fasten with toothpicks. Beat 1 egg and water together. Dip meat into it and roll in 1/2 cup wheat germ.
Bake in shallow pan for 30 to 35 minutes at 400Β°.
