Cheese Scalloped Carrots
Cheese Scalloped Carrots is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 12 sliced, pared medium carrots, 1/4 c. butter or margarine, 1 small onion, minced, 1/4 c. flour and 1/2 lb. shredded sharp cheddar cheese, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Heat oven to 350Β°.
Cook carrots and set aside.
Gently cook onion the butter for 2 to 3 minutes.
Stir in flour, salt, mustard then milk.
Cook, stirring, until smooth. Add pepper and celery salt.
In a buttered, 2 quart casserole, arrange a layer of carrots and then a layer of cheese.
Repeat until both are used.
Pour on sauce and top with bread crumbs. Bake, uncovered, 25 minutes or until golden.
