Caramels
Caramels is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 2 c. karo light syrup, dash of salt, 1/2 c. real butter (1 stick) and 2 c. half and half cream, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Combine sugar, syrup and salt in a heavy pan.
Heat to boiling and cook to firm ball stage (242Β°).
In another pan, heat the butter and cream slightly.
Then add to sugar and syrup, stirring to keep from scorching.
Continue cooking and stirring constantly until mixture returns to firm ball stage.
Remove from heat; add flavoring and mix well.
Pour into 9-inch buttered pan. Cool.
(I cool overnight.)
Remove from pan; cut into squares.
Wrap in wax paper squares that you have already cut in 3-inch squares.
