Candy Peanut Brittle
Candy Peanut Brittle is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sugar, 1 c. white syrup, 1/2 c. water, 2 c. (16 oz.) peanuts and 1 stick margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Mix sugar, syrup, water and butter in heavy 4-quart pan.
Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.
Put in a candy thermometer, continue cooking without stirring to 280°.
Then stir in nuts gradually, stir occasionally and watch closely until mixture reaches 300°.
Remove from heat and add soda gently, but quickly, stirring all in at once.
Pour on 2 buttered cookie sheets.
Do not spread!
Cool and break.
