Candied Yams
Candied Yams is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 8 lb. cooked sweet potatoes, 1/4 c. butter or margarine, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 1/4 lb. brown sugar and 1/2 c. white syrup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Slice cooked peeled potatoes lengthwise in 3/4-inch slices. Arrange in single layers in baking pan.
Melt margarine in saucepan.
Stir in brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, syrup and orange juice.
Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves and syrup is formed, stirring constantly.
Pour over potatoes.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes, basting occasionally.
