Buttermilk Pralines
Buttermilk Pralines is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. butter or margarine and 1 1/2 to 2 c. pecan halves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Combine sugar, baking soda, salt and buttermilk in Dutch oven. Cook over high heat to 210° on candy thermometer (about 5 minutes).
Stir frequently, scraping sides and bottom of pan.
Add butter and pecans.
Cook, stirring constantly to very soft ball sate (230° on candy thermometer).
Remove from heat; cool 2 minutes.
Beat until thickened and creamy.
Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper.
Makes 15 pralines.
