Buttermilk Custard

Soften butter.
Beat eggs until blended and combine with sugar and flour.
Mix butter, egg mixture and buttermilk.
Cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and add vanilla.
Pour into pie shell and bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes or until knife stuck in the middle comes out clean.
(Cook empty pie shell for 4 or 5 minutes so the bottom won't be soggy.)
