Brown Bread
Brown Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. all-bran, 3 1/2 c. sifted flour, 1 tsp. salt, 2 tsp. baking soda and 2 c. sour milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix in large bowl the all-bran, sifted flour and salt.
Mix in blender the sour milk (add baking soda to milk), sugar, Karo syrup and egg.
Bake in 2 greased and dusted bread pans at 375° for 45 minutes.
Cover with foil last 10 minutes to prevent overbrowning. Test for doneness with toothpick (with glass pan reduce oven heat by 25°).
To sour milk, add 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice to regular milk.
