Biblical Fruit Cake
Biblical Fruit Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. almonds (genesis 43:11), 1 c. raisins and 1 c. figs (1 samuel 30:12), 2 c. flour (1 kings 4:22), 2 eggs, separated (isaiah 10:14) and 1 1/2 c. sugar (jeremiah 6:20), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Grease and flour a 9 1/2-inch tube pan.
Chop almonds, raisins and figs fine.
Flour them well with part of the 2 cups of flour. Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry; set aside.
In mixing bowl, blend butter, sugar, spices and salt.
Beat egg yolks and add.
Sift in flour and baking powder; add water and honey.
Stir in floured nuts and fruits; beat well.
Fold in egg whites.
Pour into pan.
Bake at 375Β° for 50 to 60 minutes.
