Berta's Homemade Cinnamon Rolls
Berta'S Homemade Cinnamon Rolls is an impressive dinner. Made with 3 pkg. active dry yeast, 5 to 6 c. flour, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 1/2 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Mix yeast with 1/2 cup warm water; set aside.
Combine 4 cups of flour, salt, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs with warm water.
Add yeast mixture.
Turn out onto floured surface, kneading in remaining flour.
Knead dough for 10 minutes.
Shape into ball in greased bowl.
Cover; let rise 1 hour.
Roll out on floured surface into big circle.
Pour melted margarine onto dough.
Mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle.
Roll dough into a log shape; slice 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick.
Bake in a 375Β° oven for 35 to 45 minutes.
Yields 3 dozen rolls.
