Beef Stroganoff
Beef Stroganoff is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. lean ground beef, 1/2 stick oleo, 1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained, 1 c. chopped onion and 1 can sliced mushrooms, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Mix beef, salt, pepper and flour.
Saute onion in oleo; do not brown, then add beef mixture and stir over low heat until meat turns a gray color.
Add undiluted soup, mushrooms and chestnuts, cooking about 6 minutes over low heat.
Remove from heat and add sour cream.
Serve over rice.
This freezes well, but when reheating, do not allow mixture to come to a boil.
