Bean Pot Soup
Bean Pot Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. dried navy beans, 1 (1 lb. 4 oz.) can tomatoes, 1 carrot, cubed, 1 beef bouillon cube and 1/4 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Wash the beans.
Add to the water and bring to a boil.
Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let the beans soak for 1 hour. Simmer the beans for 20 minutes. Add tomatoes, celery, carrot, potato, rice, onion, bouillon cube, salt and pepper.
Brown the ground beef in shortening.
Bring soup to a boil.
Add the meat. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
