Basic White Bread

Mix 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and undissolved dry yeast in a large bowl.
Combine water, milk and margarine in a saucepan. Heat over low heat until warm.
Add egg to liquid mixture.
Add dry ingredients; mix.
Add rest of flour (3 1/2 to 4 1/2 cups), make a soft, smooth dough by kneading.
Put in a greased bowl (turn to have greased side on top).
Cover; let rise until doubled (1 hour).
