Banana Chocolate Chip Bars
Banana Chocolate Chip Bars is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter (room temperature), 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1 c. mashed bananas (1 or 2) and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Beat butter, brown sugar and nutmeg together until creamy. Beat in bananas and vanilla.
In separate bowl, stir together flour, wheat germ, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, beating well.
By hand, stir in chocolate chips and 1/2 of nuts.
Spread mixture in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Sprinkle with remaining nuts.
Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon; spread over nuts.
Bake at 350Β° for 18 to 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
Makes about 3 dozen bars.
