Applesauce Raisin Bread
Applesauce Raisin Bread is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 egg, 1 c. applesauce, 4 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted, 1/2 c. granulated sugar and 1/4 c. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
In a large bowl, beat egg lightly; stir in applesauce, butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar, mixing until well combined. Blend in flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Stir in raisins and nuts.
Turn batter into a well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan or a plain or fluted 1-quart ring mold.
Bake in a preheated 350° oven (325° for a glass pan) for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
Makes 1 loaf.
