Yum-Yum Cake
Yum-Yum Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 box raisins, 4 c. water, divided, 2 c. sugar, 3/4 c. shortening and 3 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Boil the raisins in 2 cups of water for 15 minutes.
Take from heat and add the remaining 2 cups of water.
Let stand until lukewarm.
Pour raisin mixture into a mixing bowl; add the sugar, shortening, cinnamon, cloves, salt, vanilla, flour and baking soda.
Mix well by hand.
Pour into well-greased pan (tube or Bundt) and bake in a 350Β° oven for 1 hour.
Check (test) and if not done, bake a bit longer, checking frequently until cake is done.
